The Retail Bakers of America (RBA) has formed a partnership with CANAINPA, the National Chamber of the Bread Industry of Mexico, in an effort to reach more Spanish-speaking bakers in the U.S. RBA’s board of directors approved the proposal at the September board meeting in Las Vegas.

“As the fastest growing segment of the baking industry, RBA is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for Spanish-speaking bakers,” said Mike Kalupa, president of RBA.

As part of the agreement, CANAINPA is offering RBA members a discounted subscription to its magazine, El Mundo Del Pan, as well as discounts on advertising rates. RBA members can also attend CANAINPA’s baking school in Mexico City at a reduced rate.

The two associations plan to link Web sites and share editorial content in both English and Spanish. In addition, CANAINPA will feature RBA news in its magazine.

Monica Chinisaz, the newest addition to the RBA team, will coordinate the partnership. A recent honors graduate of James Madison University, Monica majored in International Business with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and looking forward to working with CANAINPA (La Cámara Nacional de la Industria Panificadora) in assisting RBA in supporting Hispanic member bakers residing in the United States.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with CANAINPA, and I am sure the relationship between both organizations will prove to be mutually beneficial, said Monica. “We are working very closely with CANAINPA to develop new benefits and services for RBA members, including subscription and advertising discounts on CANAINPA’s official publication, as well as educational opportunities. We will have updates coming soon!”

During the next several weeks, we will begin to translate various sections of the website into Spanish. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact Monica. She can be reached at (703) 610-0230, or 1-800-638-0924, ext. 230. You can also email her at: mchinisaz@rbanet.com.
