2009 RBA heritage ROAD TOur
Your Hometown Bakery May Be Visited by the Heritage Bakery Tour Across America

Join two, fourth generation bakery boys as they travel across the southern US, representing the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), visiting member and non-member bakeries, and raising awareness of the local, retail bakery.

Gregory and Thomas Reinwald, sons of RBA President, Richard Reinwald, CMB, will attempt to trace the heritage of baking, visiting start-up and older bakeries. Join them as they discover how the baking business has changed - or stayed the same.

“Your local bakery is your community's connection to the farm. RBA wants to raise awareness of where food comes from. Bakers partner with growers to produce fresh wholesome grain based baked goods right in your hometown.

Take a moment to meet and know your local baker - the producer of your food. His children play on the same fields as yours. He helps community organizations get things done. He is rewarded and suffers along with everyone that makes up his town.

Bakers bring together skill and passion to make bread, cookies, pastries and cakes - all which grace any event. The song "Happy Birthday" is lonely without its cake; family dinner isn't complete without a side of bread. The local baker is the consumer's partner to produce the perfect ending to any party."
